Cracks in Arab League over Syria

Full Story: Dawn News 15 Nov

Saturday’s vote of the Arab League to suspend Syria from the League over its lethal crackdown on protests seems to have created cracks in the 22 member bloc as there have been dissenting voices being raised since then.

Now as per an official spokesman, the Arab League is to hold a fresh meeting of foreign ministers of the League on Syria on Wednesday at Rabat, Morocco, to "re-assess" its Saturday's decision.

Meanwhile, Assad’s exiled uncle and the former deputy president Rifaat, proposed Sunday that:
"Arab countries negotiate a deal with Damascus that guarantees the president’s security “to allow him to resign. The regime is ready to leave, but it wants guarantees, not only for its members but also that there will not be civil war after its departure.”
