Android Becoming More Popular Than iOS, More Than 0.7 Million Android Devices Getting Activated Daily

[ via Chip Hazard ] 21 Dec

Well if Apple doesn’t have to fret, it has to sweat at-least. According to a recent tweet by Andy Rubin (Google’s Android Chief), over 700,000 android units get live every day (roughly 21 million every month).
This latest confirmation has come after Google revealed that over 550,000 units are activated everyday in its quarterly report last July. Mr. Rubin also stated that they count a device only once, so his figures don’t include resold devices.

He clarified that on Google’s own social networking site Google+.
For those wondering, we count each device only once (ie, we don’t count re-sold devices), and ‘activations’ means you go into a store, buy a device, put it on the network by subscribing to a wireless service.
