Australia Drops Controversial Cricket Voting System for Man of Match Award

Australia has scrapped its controversial system of fans choosing the man of the match through a mobile phone application following an outcry on both sides of the Tasman when Australian century-maker Dave Warner was handed the cheque in Hobart ahead of New Zealand all-rounder Doug Bracewell, who wiped out Australia's middle order.

Cricket Australia launched the interactive cricket application ahead of the first Test against New Zealand. The app gave viewers the ability to choose the man of the match from three players ranked by broadcasters _ a first for sport in Australia.
