Federer and Nadal move on to third round of Indian Wells Tennis

It was a easy day for the World Number 3 Roger Federer when he defeated wild card Denis Kudla 6-4, 6-1 in a second round night match of the on going Indian wells or the BNP Paribas Open 2012 Tennis on centre court. Federer, though a bit low due to the virus that has plagued the arena, served eight aces and won 79% of his first serve points in the 57 minute contest.

Federer, who won Indian Wells three straight years from 2004-2006, now advances to the third round where he will face hard-serving Canadian Milos Raonic, who beat Carlos Berlocq in straight sets 6-4, 6-2.

Nadal, a two-time Indian Wells winner, routed Leonardo Mayer 6-1, 6-3. It was Nadal's first match since losing to world number one Novak Djokovic in a monumental five hour, 53 minute final at the Australian Open.

Nadal also advances to the third round, where he will face fellow Spaniard Marcel Granollers, who beat Tommy Haas of Germany 6-3, 2-6, 6-3.
