John Lee, a forecaster for Meteogroup, said: ‘It is going to be a very chilly weekend all over the country, but more especially in the South due to a biting wind. That will bring a wind chill factor that could see temperatures dive and it is due to get very cold at night.

Forecasters say up to an inch of snow could fall, especially in Eastern parts of England such as East Anglia, Yorkshire and Kent. Besides, the entire country will also be gripped by freezing winds of up to 40 mph, making it feel even colder.

And weather is not expected to warm up until next Wednesday.
