Pakistan buys critical arms from US as it prepares to leave Afghanistan

It has been reported that Pakistan has bouhgt a large number of critical arms and ammunition from the US forces as these prepare to leave Afghanistan in near future.

The inventory includes, utility helicopters, up-gradation kits for its F-16 fleet, 14 combat aircraft, 59 military trainer jets and 374 armoured personnel carriers besides a wide array of ammunition/laser bomb kits for use by Pakistan Air-force. 

These weapons are classified as “Excessive Defence Articles”, i.e. equipment used by the US forces, which can be supplied to allied nations at withdrawal instead of shipping them back to the United States.
