Edhi ran the biggest NGO in Pakistan with the largest ambulance fleet in the world and over 250 centres all over the country.
Owing to his limitless and selfless humanitarian services which included sheltering the destitute, abandoned and the poor, he was given a state funeral on Saturday. The funeral was attended by the president and other notables besides the Chief of the Army Staff general Raheel Sharif.
In order to give Edhi a memorable and befitting send off to his heavenly abode, his funeral was brought on the gun carriage - something done only twice before in history of Pakistan.
