Health officials have revealed that so far 53 cases of Zika have been reported in the UK as three new cases are reported in Yorkshire.
It may be added that the infection caused by Zika virus begins with mild illness in most people. But it subsequently leads to microcephaly in infants, a birth defect where a baby's head and brain are smaller than normal. The World Health Organisation has declared the Zika virus a global public health emergency.
